The volume of investments in the Russian economy has increased by 40% over the past four years. This was announced on Friday, June 5, by Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak during the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF).

"I want to say that the growth of investments in the economy over the past four years has amounted to 40%. We have built partnerships with our friendly countries and ensured, among other things, the preservation of exports and imports," he said at the session "Economy of the New World Order: Structural Transformation, Challenges and Opportunities."

According to the Deputy Prime Minister, the withdrawal of foreign companies due to sanctions pressure gave Russia the opportunity to strengthen ties with partners from friendly countries. First of all, this made it possible to maintain supplies of the necessary high-tech imports.

Novak added that the current cooperation with new partners is focused on the development of industries that provide additional economic benefits.

"Nevertheless, despite all these sanctions, our economy has shown resilience and the growth rate over the past three years has been 10.3%, an average of 3.3% per year, which is higher than the global average," he stressed.

On the same day, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told the Izvestia studio that Western business' interest in Russia had not disappeared. Russia, in turn, is interested in attracting foreign capital and intends to prove its status as a reliable country for investment.
