The civilian infrastructure of the Luhansk People's Republic (LPR) is being restored despite shelling by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). This was announced on June 5 by the head of the region, Leonid Pasechnik, in the Izvestia studio at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF).

"Despite the shelling, despite the difficult military situation, we are rebuilding roads, we are rebuilding houses, we are providing heat, we are providing water, we are providing light, gas to our residents so that they feel comfortable," he said.

Pasechnik noted that due to the ongoing hostilities, it is not yet possible to create a completely calm environment. However, local authorities continue to work in the chosen direction and are doing everything necessary to return normal life to the region.

"I am confident that we are working in the right direction and together with the military we will achieve the right result," concluded Pasechnik.

The day before, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that the Russian Armed Forces (AF) had completely taken control of the Luhansk People's Republic, as well as over 85% of the territory of the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) under their control. At the same time, the process of liberating the designated territories, as he stressed, is conducted daily.
