Only one reservoir in St. Petersburg was recognized as suitable for swimming

Only one reservoir was recognized as suitable for swimming within the borders of St. Petersburg. He is in the Vyborg district, the press service of the regional department of Rospotrebnadzor reported on Friday, June 5.

In total, the department's staff checked 24 water bodies in the city. It turned out that only the water in the Olginsky pond meets sanitary and hygienic standards.

In the remaining 23 reservoirs, the water quality does not meet the standards, writes 78.ru . These are, in particular, the Suzdal Lakes, the Nameless Lake, the Izhora River, the beaches of the Gulf of Finland and Lake Razliv.

In the Leningrad region, out of 20 tested recreation areas, only three turned out to be suitable for swimming. All of them are located in the Priozersky district. These are lakes Ratnoe, Petrovskoye and Snetkovskoye. The remaining 17 rivers and lakes do not meet hygienic requirements.

The agency added that it is strongly discouraged from swimming in reservoirs with low-quality water, as this can lead to infection with infections and parasites.

Earlier, the Ministry of Emergency Situations explained the difference between a swimming beach and a recreation area by the water. At the same time, the ministry recalled that swimming is allowed only in places prepared for this purpose.
