The ring with the ornament was found during the renovation of the Igumnov house
A green metal ring with a barely noticeable ornament was found during the cleaning of the Igumnovs' attic in Lebedyan (Lipetsk region). Now the cultural foundation and the editorial office of the local district are located in the former ancestral home of the merchants.
"The ring looks like a bracelet at first glance, but it's too narrow for the hand. Presumably, a napkin stand was found. However, this is a subject for further research," suggested Valery Akimov, head of the Lebedyan Cultural Foundation.
According to him, the renovation of the two-storey mansion, built in the twenties of the XIX century, started from the roof. It is carried out according to all the rules of repairs of cultural heritage sites — according to a special project, a licensed company and with a weekly commission of specialists.
According to GOROD48, an 18th—century coin and an openwork hood for a 19th-century smokestack were found earlier in the attic. Now Lebedyan local historians want to make two similar ones based on the model of the smokehouse and install them on the pipes of the building. Akimov said that a master from Lipetsk responded.
