Summary of the special operation in Ukraine for the week

A special military operation to protect the civilian population of Donbass has been conducted by Russia since February 24, 2022. "As a result of decisive actions, units of the Southern Group of Forces liberated the village of Tikhonovka in the Donetsk People's Republic. The manpower and equipment of five mechanized, motorized infantry, airmobile, assault, mountain assault brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, a marine brigade, a defense brigade and a National Guard brigade were defeated. In total, the enemy lost over 935 soldiers, a Leopard tank manufactured by Germany, 23 armored combat vehicles, 103 vehicles and 22 field artillery pieces in the area of responsibility of the Southern Group of Forces," the Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement.

During the week, units of the North group of forces defeated the manpower and equipment of four mechanized, two motorized infantry, an airmobile, an amphibious assault brigade, a brigade of unmanned systems, an assault regiment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, a marine brigade, three air defense brigades and a National Guard brigade. In total, the enemy lost over 1,355 soldiers, two tanks, six armored combat vehicles, 99 vehicles and nine field artillery pieces in the area of responsibility of the North group of forces.

Units of the Zapad group of forces continued their active offensive operations. During the week, formations of four mechanized, assault brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, a marine brigade and a defense brigade were defeated. The losses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in this area amounted to more than 1,325 military personnel, 12 armored combat vehicles, 97 vehicles, a Grad MLRS combat vehicle and 20 field artillery guns.

As a result of the active offensive actions of the units of the Vostok group of forces, the Komsomolskoye settlement of the Zaporizhia region was liberated. The losses of the Ukrainian armed formations in the area of responsibility of the Vostok group of forces amounted to over 3,045 military personnel, 14 armored combat vehicles, 57 vehicles and eight field artillery guns.

The units of the Center group of forces have improved their tactical situation. During the week, the enemy's losses in this area amounted to more than 2,360 military personnel, 23 armored combat vehicles, 37 vehicles and 12 field artillery guns. 47 guided aerial bombs, 16 multiple rocket launchers HIMARS manufactured in the USA and Vampire manufactured in the Czech Republic, as well as 3084 aircraft-type unmanned aerial vehicles were shot down by air defense systems.

In total, since the beginning of the special military operation, 671 aircraft, 284 helicopters, 156,416 unmanned aerial vehicles, 661 anti-aircraft missile systems, 29,621 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 1,729 multiple rocket launchers, 35,227 field artillery guns and mortars, 63,347 units of special military vehicles have been destroyed.
