Audi Nuvolari became the fastest car in the history of the brand

The new Audi Nuvolari supercar will be released in 499 copies, with the first deliveries scheduled for early next year. It is the fastest and most powerful production car in the history of the German brand. The model is named after Italian racing driver Tazio Nuvolari, one of the most famous pilots of the first half of the 20th century. Details about the model were shared by the manufacturer's press service.

The Audi Nuvolari has a hybrid powerplant with a capacity of 1001 hp, which allows you to accelerate from a standstill to 100 km/h in 2.6 seconds, and to 200 km/h in 6.8 seconds. The maximum speed exceeds 350 km/h.

The power plant consists of a four-liter V8 engine, a battery with a capacity of 7.3 kWh and three electric motors. The upgraded quattro proprietary all-wheel drive system has been applied. Other features of the model include the first use of a central wheel nut in Audi production vehicles and a movable wing at the stern, which has three positions: closed, a small angle of attack for low downforce and a large angle for high.

The Nuvolari will be the brand's first production car to embody Audi's new design philosophy. As a result, it looks like a cross between the R8 and the C concept, which was introduced last year. Then users of social networks criticized the design of the Audi Concept C prototype and compared the appearance of the front of the car with the leader of Nazi Germany, Adolf Hitler. The interior features minimalism and physical (rather than touch-sensitive) switches, two-tone finishes and anodized aluminum accents.
