Two brigades of marines of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), which were deployed to the Kharkiv region, could not plug the holes in the defense. This was reported on June 5 in the Russian law enforcement agencies.

"The units of the 35th and 39th brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which the Kiev regime deployed to the Monachinovka-Nechvolodovka area, are unable to change the situation and plug the holes in the defense. There have been cases of flight from positions," RIA Novosti quoted the security forces as saying.

It is specified that the Ukrainian command has sent reserves to the Monachinovka– Nechvolodovka section. Control over this territory is critically important for the Ukrainian side due to the presence of commanding heights there. The loss of these positions will deprive the AFU units of the opportunity to approach Kupyansk.

The law enforcement agencies noted that the attempts of the command to stop the desertion with the help of death threats and the use of pits for detainees are not yielding results. In particular, the battalion under the leadership of Zoryan Pelykh with the call sign Hunter, which is part of the 35th brigade, is in a difficult situation.

"The fighters say: 'If the battalion commander does not stop the flight, he has already been warned that he will be removed and will go to hold positions as a private soldier. On average, the survivability of a militant of the 35th brigade is no more than two days," the structures said.

On May 31, Russian law enforcement agencies reported that the Ukrainian command had decided to transfer the 27th separate regiment of the National Guard of Ukraine (NGU) from the Chernihiv region to Sumy amid large-scale losses. In the Sumy region, the Ukrainian Armed Forces are already using units deployed from the rear areas.
