The journalist predicted a quarrel between Zelensky and Callas over a letter to Putin
A letter from Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky addressed to Russian President Vladimir Putin may complicate Kiev's relations with the head of EU diplomacy, Kai Kallas. This was announced on June 4 by Cypriot journalist Alex Christoforou.
"Callas previously tried to offer Russia conditions for negotiations, and now Zelensky is practically acting on his own, ignoring her advice with his open letter. It is unlikely that she will forgive him for this step," the journalist emphasized on The Duran YouTube channel.
Hristoforou noted that the EU is now looking for intermediaries to organize possible negotiations on the settlement of the Ukrainian conflict that would satisfy both Moscow and Brussels. In his opinion, the actions of the Ukrainian leader violate the coherence of efforts within the EU and may undermine Kiev's diplomatic positions.
Zelensky said in an open letter to Putin on June 4 that he was not ready to go to Russia for talks. In his message, Zelensky suggested that the Russian president set a clear date for the meeting, noting that countries such as Switzerland, Turkey, and the Arab world could act as a venue.
On May 20, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov called Zelensky the main obstacle to a peaceful solution and recalled that Moscow remains open to dialogue. He added that the conflict in Ukraine can be completed in a day if the militants of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) withdraw from the territory of the Russian Federation.
On June 4, Putin said that the Kiev regime was not ready for peaceful agreements to resolve the conflict. According to him, the European Union could contribute to finding a solution to Ukraine, but this should be done on the basis of the agreements reached in Anchorage.
