Scammers create fake duplicate websites to sell edited fake tickets. Lawyer Anna Ermolaeva told about this on June 5.

"The design repeats itself one by one, and only one letter changes in the address bar. As a result, the buyer receives a fake in the mail, with which he will not be allowed to attend the event," she shared in an interview with RIA Novosti, noting that fraudsters create copies of the websites of the Bolshoi Theater, the Mariinsky or large concert arenas for tickets.

According to the lawyer, another scheme includes offers to attend a concert or performance, which are sent on dating sites. The victim is sent a fake ticket purchase link, as a result of which the person loses money, and if they try to make a refund through tech support, they risk losing all remaining funds on their bank card.

Ermolaeva added that scammers can buy real cheap tickets and edit them under the VIP category in order to sell them at an inflated price under the guise of resellers. At the same time, the client is asked to make sure that the ticket is real, as well as make a payment after entering the hall. However, on the spot it is discovered that the place is occupied by the real owner.

Galaktion Kuchava Analytics reported on June 5 that fraudsters place ads on car travel search services and send phishing links to victims under the pretext of booking a place. According to the expert, on the fake page, a person is asked to log in, enter bank card details, and also confirm the operation using a one-time SMS code, after which the money is debited from the account, and the "driver" disappears.
