Soldiers of the 114th Guards Motorized Rifle Regiment of the 127th Motorized Rifle Division of the 5th Combined Arms Army of the Vostok group told the details of the liberation of the Komsomolskoye (Gulyai-Pole) settlement in the Zaporozhye region. The relevant footage is published by the Russian Defense Ministry on June 5.
"Enter the village of Komsomolskoye, clean up and expel the enemy from there. We went there with our entire company of the 114th regiment. They cleared, took up positions, destroyed the enemy, all supplies were neutralized and, accordingly, secured. We are holding positions," said the platoon commander with the call sign Tanker.
During the fighting, motorized rifle units cleared a defense area of up to 5 square kilometers, took control of more than 250 buildings, destroyed over a company of manpower of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), hit six armored combat vehicles, 16 vehicles, seven units of motorized vehicles, five ground-based robotic complexes and 35 heavy hexacopters.
The squad commander with the call sign Melon explained that advancing through an open area and overcoming enemy trench lines required precise tactics.
"Our task was to find the command post and <...> the drive where we bring the groups and from there we send them to the task. They came out of there with an offensive, a sweep," he noted.
The liberation of Komsomolsk made it possible to improve the tactical situation and created favorable conditions for the further development of offensive actions by units of the Vostok group of forces in the area of the special military operation.
On June 4, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation announced the liberation of Komsomolskoye settlement by soldiers of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. It was clarified that in this area, the Ukrainian militants lost eight vehicles, four armored combat vehicles, a counter-battery radar station and up to 430 soldiers.
