A Russian fighter captured a fully functional Ukrainian hexacopter Vampire
A fighter of the reconnaissance and assault brigade "Wolves" of the Volunteer Corps of the Southern Group of Forces with the call sign Tikhy captured a fully operational heavy drone of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) "Vampire". This was announced on June 5 by the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.
It is noted that the operation was planned and carried out by volunteers in the Kramatorsk-Druzhkovsky area after the unsuccessful departure of a Ukrainian drone on a combat mission. The heavy drone, which was being monitored by Russian soldiers, managed to drop its cargo, but during its return to base it made an emergency landing in the "gray" zone due to a low battery.
A fighter with the call sign Tikhy discovered the drone and managed to reach the landing site of the unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) and evacuate the drone. As a result, the drone was at the disposal of the Russian military in almost perfect condition. The study of such objects allows us to obtain valuable information about the enemy's technical solutions, the specifics of using UAV systems and improve methods of combating them on the line of combat contact, the ministry stressed.

It is specified that the Vampire is capable of carrying up to 15 kg of combat load or other cargo and rising to a height of up to 400 m. All UAVs of this type are equipped with thermal imaging cameras, and the weight of the device with batteries reaches about 50 kg without ammunition.
On June 4, the ministry reported that units of the unmanned systems forces had attacked the Nikopol solar power plant in the Dnipropetrovsk region, which was used by the Ukrainian Armed Forces. It was noted that the facility is located near the village of Starozavodskoye. The Geran attack drone was used to complete the task.
