The United States imposed sanctions on members of the family of Raul Castro
The United States has imposed sanctions on relatives of former Cuban leader Raul Castro, including his son and grandson, as well as two others. This was announced on June 4 on the website of the American Ministry of Finance.
It is noted that the sanctions affected the son of former Cuban leader Alejandro Castro Espina and grandson of Raul Castro Alejandro Castro Calisa.
According to the agency, two more people are included in the sanctions list.
American leader Donald Trump on Thursday, June 4, said that the United States aims to change the state system in Cuba.
U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio said on May 21 that Washington would prefer to resolve relations with Cuba through diplomatic means, but the likelihood of such a scenario currently remains low. He added that the United States is ready for dialogue if the Cuban authorities change their position, but for now Washington intends to continue its policy of pressure on Havana.
