Lyubimova pointed out the importance of culture for the economy and regions of Russia.

At the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) on June 5, Russian Minister of Culture Olga Lyubimova, in an interview with Izvestia, emphasized the importance of culture as an economic and social resource.

"Culture has its own economy. <...> The economy of creative industries, which is developing very actively. And, of course, from the point of view of extra—budgetary sources of income that have learned to earn — our theaters and museums, how many people come to them," she said.

The Minister also spoke about the priorities of working with the regions: modernization of facilities, development of libraries, support for children's art schools and major creative projects through the national Family project. Lyubimova noted that cultural sites have an impact on demographics and the life of municipalities, and the priority system remains stable.

"At first, they don't even believe the effect in the municipality of an open renovated library," Lyubimova emphasized.

It is specified that the "soft power" of Russian culture in the international arena is an important area. The minister explained that Russian cinema, musical tours and joint international projects are in demand in the CIS, SCO and BRICS countries, and audiovisual content is actively developing in cooperation with India, China and Serbia. Despite some scandals, the love of the foreign audience for Russian culture is manifested through real events, concerts and festivals.

"What our country's culture has always been so famous for is the national auteur cinema, which, before the start of a special military operation, collected kilograms of these statuettes <...> and Berlin, and Venice, and Cannes, annual participation, nomination, Grand Prix, best actress," concluded the Minister of Culture.

Lyubimova said on the same day that the revival of cultural exchanges between Moscow and Washington remains a constant task, provided equal and depoliticized cooperation. She noted that until recently, Russian and American cultural figures had implemented a large number of joint projects. They discussed student creative exchanges, artist tours, cooperation in the field of architecture and the preservation of cultural heritage sites.
