More than 50 thousand scientists will have access to the scientific platform "Sbera"

At SPIEF 2026, Sber and the Russian Science Foundation (RPF) signed an agreement on strategic cooperation in the implementation of artificial intelligence in the scientific field. As part of the partnership, all the fund's grantees — more than 50,000 researchers - will have access to the AI for Science cloud platform, the bank's press service said.

Sberbank emphasized that this is one of the largest implementations of AI tools into real scientific practice in the country.

Under the agreement, the parties will consolidate efforts in the field of scenario forecasting and strategic planning of scientific and technological development of the country. It is also planned to combine expert experience for the implementation of AI tools.

The document provides for the organization of public events in order to form a dialogue between scientists and tech companies, create new research initiatives and accelerate the introduction of technology into the real sector of the economy. Attention will also be paid to the development of AI-based platform solutions, the digital transformation of science, and ensuring researchers' access to Sberbank's cloud resources.

"The RNF grantees are leading research teams and researchers who are shaping Russia's scientific and technological foundation in priority areas. Access to our AI for Science platform will allow them to accelerate research, increase team efficiency, and shorten the path from hypothesis to practical result," said Andrey Belevtsev, Senior Vice President and Head of Technological Development at Sberbank.

Vladimir Bespalov, Director General of the Russian National Science Foundation, added that the cooperation between the foundation and Sber is an example of a strategic partnership between science and the technology sector in solving national development challenges. "We expect that working together with Sberbank will expand the capabilities of research teams working with the support of the Russian Science Foundation, strengthen cooperation between the research environment and high-tech business, and create additional conditions for achieving Russia's technological leadership," he stressed.
