Lavrov proposed a way to normalize relations between Iran and Arab countries
A non-aggression pact could be the first key step towards normalizing the situation between Iran and the Arab countries. This was announced on June 4 by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.
"Our concept just provides, firstly, non-aggression. Now, by the way, there is talk of non-aggression in Saudi Arabia, a non-aggression pact. It probably won't hurt as a first step, but additional steps can be taken," he said in an interview with RT Arabic.
In particular, Lavrov proposed to conclude agreements on transparency in military activities, on the limitation of military operations and preparation for maneuvers. Lavrov also pointed out the need to strengthen trust between the parties.
Lavrov also said on May 15 that the main task for Iran is to end the war and translate the observed truce into a final agreement on the cessation of hostilities between the United States and Israel. The minister also noted that India could become a mediator in the normalization of relations between Iran and Arab countries by inviting Iran and the UAE for a dialogue.
