Historical reenactors performed in the subway on the eve of the Times and Epochs festival

A performance by historical reenactors took place at the Kurskaya metro station, which became the prologue of the Times and Epochs festival, which will be held as part of the Summer in Moscow project and the Moscow Seasons urban event cycle.

The program combined several historical eras. The Veterum chorus Dance Studio presented reconstructions of the dances of Ancient Greece and Rome, created on the basis of written and pictorial sources. The musical part of the early 20th century was performed by the Hard Brass Band, who performed in a reconstructed uniform of the Preobrazhensky Regiment of the 1907 model.

The musicians performed Ilya Shatrov's waltz "On the Hills of Manchuria", the waltz "Autumn Dream", as well as marches typical of military and concert practice at the beginning of the last century.

According to Vasily Tartyzhov, the chief coordinator of the Times and Epochs festival, this year the organizers decided to pay attention not only to military history, but also to the cultural heritage of the country.

"The 2026 festival is intended as a large-scale conversation not only about military events, but also about the cultural meanings that have shaped the country for centuries. We have consciously expanded our focus and turned to Russian literature, theater, music, and dance — those phenomena that have become part of the world cultural heritage. The festival program will cover more than 30 venues," Vasily Tartyzhov said.

The key locations will be Mitino Landscape Park, Moskino Film Park, Raduga Park and Pokrovskoye-Streshnevo, where reconstructions of various historical eras will take place — from Ancient Russia to the beginning of the 20th century.

Pavel Gusev, a representative of the Moscow Seasons organizing committee, said that the festival's venues in different parts of the city would feature such themes as ancient theater, Russian Medieval culture, a secular salon, Victory music and a retro dance floor.

The Times and Epochs Festival will be held in Moscow from June 10 to 14.
