Almost 30 children were affected by ticks in the Pskov region in a week
In the Pskov region, 142 people applied for medical help in connection with the sucking of ticks during the week. This is reported by the regional Rospotrebnadzor.
So, from May 25 to May 31, 142 people, including 29 children, were affected by ticks. The largest number of suckings was recorded in rural settlements, country associations and in the forest.
As of June 1, a total of 821 people, including 202 children, have applied for medical care in the Pskov region since the beginning of the season. The first case was recorded on March 15.
According to the Pskov news feed, these data differ significantly from the average annual values for 2015-2025. So, in 2026, the number of recorded cases of suckling is 46% less, including children by 54.7% less.
In 2025, during the same period, 1,337 people were affected by ticks, 316 of whom were children.
On June 2, Rospotrebnadzor presented data on ticks in the country. So, since the beginning of the season, more than 176 thousand residents of Russia have sought medical help after sucking ticks. The largest number of appeals was registered in the Sverdlovsk, Kemerovo, Tyumen, Chelyabinsk, Irkutsk, Vologda, Kirov, Kostroma and Novosibirsk regions.
