- Moscow cultural venues have prepared a program for the Day of the Russian Language
More than 300 events have been prepared in Moscow for the Russian Language Day in museums, libraries, parks and estates. This was announced on Thursday, June 4, by Deputy Mayor of the capital Natalia Sergunina.
According to her, Muscovites and tourists will enjoy performances based on the works of Alexander Pushkin, excursions, concerts, quizzes, film screenings and creative meetings.
For example, on June 6, the Pushkin State Museum will host free guided tours and a concert featuring fragments of famous operas based on the poet's works. The festival will also be joined by the venues of the Teatralny Boulevard festival, where performances will be shown, a poetry evening and a rap battle based on the classic's work will be held, the Moscow City News agency reports.
In addition, libraries, cultural centers, Moskino cinemas and metropolitan parks have prepared thematic programs. The city will host poetry readings, literary games, film screenings and performances, as well as the XII Red Square Book Festival, dedicated to Alexander Pushkin's birthday.
Most of the events will be free, and some will require pre-registration, Moscow 24 clarifies.
