Murashko spoke about the Russian vaccine for the prevention of Ebola

Russia has an adapted vaccine against a new strain of Ebola, which is spreading in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC). This was stated on June 4 by the Minister of Health of the Russian Federation Mikhail Murashko in an interview with the VK Video Blogging Studio at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF-2026).

"In general, for the prevention of Ebola, the Gamalei Institute had previously developed such a vaccine, and we have it. With the advent of the new strain, our colleagues adapted the vaccine, and now it is available in the product format," the VK Video press service quoted him as saying.

According to Murashko, there are no direct threats from Ebola to Russian citizens, but the situation remains local. He noted that Rospotrebnadzor conducts measures for early diagnosis of the disease and builds a system of preventive measures.

The head of the Russian Ministry of Health also stressed that Russia has modern vaccine platforms that make it possible to quickly create drugs to combat new biological threats. According to him, a limited number of states have such competencies.

In addition, Dmitry Bakanov, CEO of the Roscosmos State Corporation, spoke about the importance of the lunar program for Russia on the VK Video platform during the SPIEF. He noted that the Moon is considered as a platform for testing life support technologies.

"Now everyone is talking about the moon. We need to learn how to deploy the infrastructure for life support. We are learning how to prepare infrastructure for other celestial bodies," said the head of Roscosmos in the Blogging studio VK Video.

Bakanov added that establishing a base on the moon is much cheaper than developing the same infrastructure on Mars. According to him, so far no country has the technology for such a project.
