Bild learned about the US plans to refuse to provide NATO with certain types of equipment

The United States plans in the near future to abandon the provision of certain types of tanker aircraft and drones to NATO. This was reported by the Bild newspaper on June 4.

"Previously, the United States supplied 71 older KC-135 aircraft; in the future, this number will be reduced to 63. Washington also plans to abandon the supply of eight KC-46 tanker aircraft. The United States is also excluding all long-range reconnaissance drones from plans to transfer to NATO, reducing the number of MQ-9 drones by almost half," the article says.

In addition, Washington intends to reduce the number of its fighters, which will be on the balance sheet of the North Atlantic Alliance. Thus, the number of F-16s will decrease from 99 to 63 units, and the F-15E — from 54 to 36.

The Financial Times newspaper reported on June 2 that the United States is discussing the possibility of deploying nuclear weapons in additional European NATO countries using dual-purpose aircraft capable of launching nuclear strikes. It is clarified that a number of Baltic countries and the eastern flank of NATO, including Poland, are interested in the proposal to deploy aircraft.
