For the first time since 2022, Russian Post has accepted a shipment of parcels from the United States. The operators of the two countries restored postal imports to Russia at the end of May. This was reported on the Russian Post website on June 4.

"The first batch of shipments has already arrived in Russia. Delivery is carried out by transit flights through third countries based on existing logistics solutions," the message says.

The company noted that this area has historically been significant for customers, as previously the volume of imports from the United States exceeded 50,000 per month. The bulk of shipments are made up of e-commerce products, including clothing, footwear, electronics, and dietary supplements.

The United States maintained its leadership in terms of export shipments from Russia in 2024-2025. Last year, this country accounted for a fifth of the total volume of Russian exports. At the end of 2025, the operator resumed receiving shipments to the United States in the categories of "Gift", "Documents" and "Commercial sample", which had previously been suspended due to the abolition of duty-free regime.

Currently, the Russian postal operator delivers correspondence and parcels to 163 countries. The list of available destinations includes neighboring countries, Europe, Latin America, the Middle East and Africa, as well as China and Southeast Asian countries.

Industry representatives believe that this will lead to increased costs for citizens and violation of their rights.

On May 4, Russian Post reported that some of the information about the location of parcels and their status was hidden in order to simplify the customer's journey. It was clarified that all hidden statuses will remain in the company's internal system, but will not be visible to customers, so as "not to overload with a multitude of intermediate statuses" and promptly identify emergency situations.
