Western countries are responsible for Ukraine's attacks on Russian civilians. This was stated to Izvestia on June 4 on the sidelines of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) by American blogger and journalist Christopher Helali, who visited Starobilsk in the Luhansk People's Republic (LNR).

He stressed that the terrorist attack of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Starobilsk is a monstrous crime. According to Helali, Western countries should objectively cover such events, but they do not do so in order not to reveal their complicity.

"If the West truthfully covers the events in Starobilsk or any crimes against Russian citizens, what will be revealed? The West's complicity in these attacks," Khelali said.

He said that at the scene of the tragedy he was able to see all the consequences of the attack, as well as the impressive work of the Russian operational services.

In addition, the politician and former member of the British Parliament, George Galloway, in a conversation with Izvestia, stressed that everyone who did not come to the SPIEF was "the main loser." He also admitted that he was looking forward to Russian President Vladimir Putin's speech at the forum.

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said on the same day that the UN should pay attention to the attack on the student dormitory in Starobilsk and assess what happened.

The Ukrainian Armed Forces attacked the educational building and the dormitory of the Starobilsk Pedagogical College on May 22. As a result, 21 people were killed and 65 others were injured. A criminal case has been opened into the incident in accordance with Part 3 of Article 205 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Terrorist act"). Foreign journalists who arrived at the damaged facility were banned from publishing reports from there.
