Kirill Dmitriev, Special Representative of the President of Russia for Investment and Economic Cooperation with Foreign Countries and CEO of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF), held telephone talks with Steve Witkoff, Special Envoy of the President of the United States, and Jared Kushner, an entrepreneur, on June 3. He announced this on June 4 on the sidelines of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF).

"Just yesterday, we spoke on the phone with both Witkoff and Jared Kushner," TASS quoted him as saying.

According to Dmitriev, the parties are in constant dialogue, during which the American side expresses its readiness to contribute to a peaceful settlement. As the head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund noted, US representatives convey to Kiev the need to move to a peaceful path and abandon constant provocations and confrontation.

The key topic of the conversation was economic cooperation. Dmitriev stressed that Moscow and Washington are considering the possibility of implementing many joint initiatives. Currently, active preparation of projects for mutual investments is underway, which can be implemented, including in Russia. According to the special representative of the President, such programs will benefit both countries.

Russian presidential aide Yuri Ushakov announced on May 20 that Witkoff and Kushner could visit Russia in the near future. However, he stressed that the issue of their visit to Moscow should be resolved bilaterally. At the same time, as Ushakov said in an interview with Izvestia, the exact dates of the visit are not yet known.
