Over the past day, 301 accidents were recorded on Russian roads, in which 23 people were killed and 349 injured. 20 of the dead were drivers and passengers. This was reported to Izvestia on June 4 by the State Traffic Inspectorate of the Russian Interior Ministry.

As a result of 69 accidents involving pedestrians, 25 people were killed and 44 others were injured in various degrees of severity. Among the injured are 26 child pedestrians, 18 of whom were injured when crossing the roadway in unintended places. Of the total number of pedestrian incidents, 25 occurred at pedestrian crossings and 44 outside their area of operation.

There were 11 bus accidents in which there were no fatalities, but 13 road users, including one child, needed medical attention. Six bus accidents were caused by traffic violations committed by drivers of other vehicles.

69 accidents involving minors were registered, 73 young road users were injured, including 22 passengers and nine motor transport drivers. Two children were killed: a girl passenger in a passenger car and a teenage boy driving an electric scooter.

So, in the Novosibirsk region, in the early morning, on 404 km of the Novosibirsk —Kochki—Pavlodar regional highway, a 45-year-old car driver drove off the road to the right in the course of traffic, after which the vehicle overturned. The seven-year-old daughter of a motorist, who was transported in the back seat without a child restraint and using a seat belt, died in an accident.

In one of the rural settlements of the Republic of Crimea, late in the evening, a 25-year-old passenger car driver drove into the oncoming lane at an unregulated intersection, where he collided with a 14-year-old schoolboy traveling in the same direction and turning left on an electric scooter without a helmet. The seventh grader died. The driver's license has not been issued to the driver of the car before. The deceased teenager also lacked it due to his young age.

The State Traffic Inspectorate urged motorists who do not have a driver's license or are deprived of the right to drive vehicles to refrain from any attempts to get behind the wheel and drive onto public roads. By their reckless actions, such citizens endanger not only their own lives and health, but also the lives and health of other road users.

Drivers were urged to strictly observe traffic regulations and be more careful on the roads of towns and cities, especially in the evening. They were advised not to overestimate their strength and driving skills, to abandon risky driving, exceeding the speed limit, to refrain from sudden rash maneuvers and changes of lanes, overtaking and driving into oncoming traffic — even in the permitted places. The department also drew the attention of drivers to the strict observance of the rules for transporting children.

In addition, the State Traffic Inspectorate recommended that parents strictly monitor and stop attempts by children and teenagers to get behind the wheel on their own during the long summer school holidays, as well as exclude the possibility for them to access the keys of cars, mopeds and motorcycles, prohibiting driving without appropriate rights and skills.

"Have an explanatory conversation with your children about the rules of safe cycling and personal mobility, paying special attention to the need to dismount when crossing the roadway at a pedestrian crossing. It is necessary to regularly inform them about the rules of the road, the dangers of entering the roadway and the need to comply with the rules of safe behavior. Please note that access to public roads for cyclists and drivers is only allowed when they reach the age of 14. Remember that the lack of control over the behavior and leisure of children often leads to injuries or deaths of young road users," said Police Colonel Sergei Hrantskevich, head of the Department for Road Safety Promotion and Prevention of child traffic injuries at the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.

As reported on June 2, in 2025, there was a 4.1% decrease in the number of accidents in Russia involving drivers who were intoxicated or refused to undergo a medical examination, and almost 13.4 thousand such accidents occurred at the end of the year.
