The Head of the Republic of Mordovia, Artyom Zdunov, and CEO of PJSC ROSSETI, Andrey Ryumin, discussed the development of the region's electric grid complex at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF-2026).

As stated in the message of the energy company, it was noted at the meeting that the effective work of power engineers provides a reliable basis for the development of the region's economy and social sphere. The possibility of strengthening cooperation, including in the field of industrial cooperation, was discussed.

"The industrial sector of the Republic of Mordovia actively cooperates with the ROSSETI Group. In particular, cable and wire products manufactured in the region are widely used at the company's facilities. At the same time, we have every opportunity to increase the volume of cooperation," said Zdunov.

The parties also reviewed the implementation of priority projects in the grid complex.

"Last year we opened a modern Network Management Center in Mordovia. This has significantly improved the reliability of power supply to consumers. Currently, it is planned to build a substation to create an industrial park and develop a special economic zone, which will ensure new investments and additional taxes to the republic's budget," Ryumin said.

In total, in 2026, the ROSSETI Group will allocate more than 1 billion rubles to finance infrastructure projects in Mordovia. Within the framework of cooperation with the largest agricultural holding, the power engineers will connect livestock complexes, a plant for processing, storing and transshipment of grain crops, and the production of compound feeds to the network.

The plans for the near future also include the technical modernization of two 220 kV mainline substations, which are the main elements of the Mordovian energy system — they provide electricity to Saransk and nearby areas.
