First Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov, Governor of St. Petersburg Alexander Beglov, Chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee Alexey Miller and CEO of Kamaz Sergey Kogogin launched the production of the Russian executive class car Senat 900. The participants of the ceremony pressed a symbolic button on the SPIEF-2026 site.

"A dynamic and promising chapter is opening in the history of the automotive industry in the Northern Capital. Restarting production at the Shushary site is not just about opening the assembly line. We are reviving the traditions of engineering excellence, passing the baton to new generations of designers, technologists and workers," Beglov emphasized. He noted that today St. Petersburg is one of the key centers of the Russian automotive industry, and its role in strengthening the technological sovereignty of the country is becoming increasingly important. "The fourfold increase in car production in 2025 is a clear confirmation of this. The launch of the Senat 900 will give a new impetus to the development of the industry and the economy of the city as a whole," the governor added.

He also stated that the revival of the automotive industry in St. Petersburg was made possible thanks to the support of the President of Russia, the assistance of the Government of the Russian Federation and the city's strategic partners Gazprom and Kamaz. Beglov expressed confidence that St. Petersburg cars will become a symbol of comfort, quality and reliability.

The Senat 900 is an all—wheel drive sedan with a three-liter V6 gasoline engine and an eight-speed automatic transmission. The engine power is 326 horsepower. Acceleration time to 100 km/h is 6.5 seconds.
