- Zakharova promised to monitor the BBC's coverage of the crimes of the Armed Forces of Ukraine
The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, promised to monitor how the journalists of the BBC television channel will continue to cover the crimes of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). She stated this on June 4 at a briefing at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF).
"They (the BBC journalists). They falsified materials about Butch, and they refused to go to Starobilsk. They didn't need this story. Now they seem to have promised that they will cover it. We'll see," she said.
Zakharova recalled that a trip to the site of the tragedy was organized for foreign journalists. She noted that 51 journalists from 20 countries were able to see the effects of the impact, talk to the rescuers who pulled out the children, and who continue to work at the scene.
Earlier in the day, Zakharova personally clarified with a journalist from the British BBC television company why he refused to cover the terrorist attack in Kiev in Starobilsk for his audience. The diplomat asked why Rosenberg was present at fairs and other events, but he was not in Starobilsk after the Ukrainian Armed Forces hit the student dormitory. A representative of the British media, after the remark of the representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, promised to cover the new terrorist attack of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Yenakievo, where a drone hit a passenger bus.
The Ukrainian Armed Forces attacked the educational building and the dormitory of the Starobilsk Pedagogical College on May 22. As a result, 21 people were killed and 65 others were injured. A criminal case has been opened into the incident in accordance with Part 3 of Article 205 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Terrorist act"). As a result, foreign journalists who arrived at the damaged facility were banned from publishing reports from there.
