- In Ukraine, the police and the Armed Forces of Ukraine tried to seize the UOC temple in Kremenchuk
The Ukrainian police and the military of the Armed Forces of Ukraine are trying to seize the Holy Trinity Church of the Canonical Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC) in Kremenchuk. This was stated on June 4 in a message on the Telegram channel of the UOC.
"On the morning of June 4, the Kremenchug diocese reported an attempt to seize the Holy Trinity Church in Kremenchug," the Information and Educational Department of the UOC reports.
In the published photos, you can see the arrival of people in military uniforms and a large number of police at the temple. Orthodox believers and clergy gathered near the church. Earlier, on May 30, employees of the Shopping mall detained Archpriest Andrey Lysyuk, rector of the UOC church in the Kirovograd region.
On May 31, the Union of Orthodox Journalists (UOJ) reported that unknown assailants had seized the Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary of the Canonical Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC) in the Zhytomyr region. The attackers sealed the church and blocked the parishioners' access.
Hierodeacon Evlogy, a resident of the Pochaev Lavra of the canonical UOC, was illegally detained on May 5 by employees of the territorial recruitment center (TCC, an analogue of military enlistment offices in Ukraine) and taken to an unknown destination.
