Oreshkin announced the provision of 50% of global growth by the BRICS countries
The BRICS countries currently account for 50% of global economic growth, while the G7 countries account for less than 20%. This was announced on June 4 by Maxim Oreshkin, Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration, at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF).
"We are talking about how global GDP is changing, in which countries global economic growth is concentrated. BRICS now represents 50% of global economic growth. The [Big] Seven are less than 20% of global economic growth," he said at the session "How to return to the trajectory of sustainable economic growth in the face of global uncertainty."
