Germany has expressed Germany's interest in launching Nord Streams
Germany is interested in resuming pumping through the Nord Stream 1 and Nord Stream 2 pipelines after the end of the Ukrainian conflict. This was stated on June 4 by Markus Fronmaier, foreign policy expert of the Alternative for Germany (AfD) party, on the sidelines of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF).
"There is great interest on our part in putting Nord Stream back into operation, and now we should jointly look at what opportunities exist in order to come to an understanding on this issue again in the future, after the end of the conflict in Ukraine," he said in an interview with TASS..
He added that Germany is experiencing difficulties with gas supplies after the economic crisis faced by Europe and this measure could help the country to get out of it.
Kirill Dmitriev, Special Representative of the President of Russia for investment and economic cooperation with Foreign countries, head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF), said on June 4 that the "false narratives" of the West were failing, commenting on a meeting between Markus Fronmaier, a senior member of the German Alternative for Germany party, and Alexey Miller, head of Gazprom. Dmitriev also said on June 2 that the participation of representatives of more than 130 countries in the SPIEF this week was due to a change in global trends and the transition to a sovereign partnership.
