A group of fraudsters involved in the kidnapping was detained in Kaliningrad.
In Kaliningrad, the activities of an organized group, whose members are suspected of fraud and kidnapping, were suppressed. This was announced on June 4 by the official representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia Irina Volk.
"Three suspects were detained by the police together with the soldiers of the Russian Guard. The investigative authorities have initiated a number of criminal cases against them. The defendants are currently in custody," she said.
According to police, from November 2022 to January 2026, three residents of the region — two men aged 53 and 55, as well as a 53-year—old woman - together with unidentified persons committed fraudulent acts against citizens entitled to social benefits as orphans.
The attackers sold uninhabitable houses to the victims. In March 2023, one of the victims, a resident of Kaliningrad, decided to contact law enforcement agencies. Upon learning about this, two of the defendants beat him, after which they took him to a deserted place. Threatening with physical violence and the use of violence against his underage daughter, the attackers demanded to abandon attempts to file a police report.
At the moment, five facts of illegal activity have been identified. According to preliminary estimates, the damage caused to the budget exceeds 5 million rubles.
On May 15, Volk reported that in Moscow, the activities of a criminal group of six people who had been cashing out maternity capital through fictitious educational services had been suppressed. Accomplices found unemployed people and registered them as sole proprietors. The nominal managers handed over the management to the group leaders for remuneration. More than 50 million rubles were stolen, and the group's income amounted to about 35 million rubles.
