In the near future, the United States intends to transfer military assistance to Ukraine in the amount of $400 million as part of a package that was previously approved by Congress. This was announced on June 3 by the American Secretary of State Marco Rubio.

"This issue is currently undergoing interdepartmental coordination. Moreover, it seems that last Friday I saw relevant materials on it. I think you will hear news about this in the near future," he said during a hearing in the Senate Appropriations Committee.

According to a report from the US Department of Defense to the United States Congress, Ukraine in 2026 will not be able to finance the budget without foreign support. The country's State Department estimates that in 2026, the country will be able to independently cover only part of budget expenditures in the amount of about $67 billion out of the required $114 billion. The expected deficit will be $47 billion.

The Associated Press reported on May 22 that a group of U.S. senators from both parties is calling on Pentagon Chief Pete Hegseth to accelerate the allocation of $600 million in aid to Ukraine and U.S. allies in Eastern Europe. It is noted that we are talking about $400 million for Ukraine and another $200 million for the defense programs of Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania.
