The regions need to develop education and modernize the urban environment in order to prevent the migration of Russians to megacities. Vitaly Korolev, Acting Governor of the Tver Region, announced this opinion on Wednesday, June 3, on the sidelines of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF).

"I believe that the most important measure that will prevent the outflow of the population to large developed economic centers — Moscow and St. Petersburg - is high—quality education," he is quoted as saying. Lenta.Ru .

According to the acting governor, the development of the educational system helps to train in-demand specialists and create conditions for their further employment in the region. The politician also noted the advantageous geographical location of the Tver region, where people come to live, relax and sometimes work.

Earlier, on May 26, at the "There is a result!" forum of the United Russia party, which was held in Vladivostok, it was stated that it was possible to stop the outflow of population from the Far East and the Arctic only through comprehensive infrastructure development and the creation of new promising jobs.

Vladimir Yakushev, Secretary of the General Council of the party, said on May 25 that United Russia had secured the adoption of about 100 federal laws in the field of the development of the Far East and the Arctic zone. He stated that the development of these regions is a strategic priority for Russia.

In turn, the head of the Ministry of Finance, Maksut Shadaev, announced on April 23 that the outflow of population from settlements, where cheap high-speed Internet came, was slowing down, RT reports.
