- Iran has declared its readiness to strike at Israel in the event of an attack on Beirut.
The Iranian side is ready to strike at Israel in the event of its attack on Beirut. This was stated on June 3 by the Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic, Abbas Araqchi, in an interview with Al Mayadeen TV channel.
"Our armed forces are ready to strike at Israel if it attacks Beirut," he said.
In addition, Araqchi noted that Israel has been violating cease-fire agreements with Iran and Lebanon for several days. He also noted that such actions provoke a response from Hezbollah.
Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf said on June 2 that Tehran would not stand aside if crimes against the Lebanese people did not stop. According to him, the Iranian side has been actively engaged in the issue of stopping the attacks for the past two days. Ghalibaf also confirmed his determination to achieve a complete ceasefire during a conversation with Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri.
The Axios portal added that US President Donald Trump, in a telephone conversation with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on June 1, sharply criticized his actions in the Middle East, calling the Israeli prime minister "crazy." It was noted that the President was concerned about the large number of civilian deaths, as well as the destruction of entire buildings.
