Murashko named one of the key strategies for the development of medicine in Russia

One of the key strategies for the development of medicine in Russia is the creation of domestic medicines and the introduction of new treatment approaches. This was announced on June 3 by the head of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation Mikhail Murashko at the SPIEF session "Investments in drug accessibility: from the molecule to the patient. Priority areas of innovation for human health".

"The course is towards innovation and paradigm shift from simple assembly and packaging to not even deep localization, but to the creation of platform solutions...> We need not only reproduced drugs, but also new ideas for the introduction of therapy — this is the key strategy for today," Murashko said.

The Minister pointed out the importance of national security in the production of medicines. According to him, it is necessary to control the supply of critical ingredients and consumables.

"There are always critical suppliers, and we must clearly understand, including forming a task for those who have competencies in production, from plastics to media," the head of the department stressed.

Murashko called the acceleration and cheapening of scientific developments another important task of the industry. Currently, when evaluating the work of federal scientific institutions, the monetization of their intellectual activities is taken into account.

At the same time, the creation of new treatment methods requires consideration of existing practices. The minister noted that expensive novelties will be considered less readily if there are available analogues.
