- In Moscow, a passenger was sentenced to three years in prison for assaulting a traffic controller.
The Tverskoy District Court of Moscow sentenced a bus passenger who attacked a ticket collector to three years in prison. This was stated by Maxim Liksutov, Deputy Mayor of the capital for Transport and Industry.
The decision was made under Part 2 of Article 318 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation "The use of violence dangerous to life or health against a government official."
The incident occurred after a ticket collector approached a passenger who had not paid his fare and asked him to provide identification documents. The violator refused to do this, attacked the controller and tried to escape. An employee of the State Institution "Organizer of Transportation" suffered a dislocated arm fracture and was hospitalized.
According to Liksutov, this is the 17th case of an attack on supervisors since the beginning of the year. Metropolitan investigators conduct a check on each incident. If there are signs of a crime, a decision is made to initiate criminal proceedings.
"We urge passengers to be polite to the controllers of the "Transportation Organizer" and pay for trips strictly at the entrance to the transport. We never ignore any aggression towards our employees. Attacking them is a criminal offense. No such case goes unpunished," Liksutov said.
Starting from January 9, 2026, the fine for stowaway travel and misuse of a social card is 5,000 rubles. It must be paid within 60 days. In case of delay, the fine is doubled, and the case is transferred to bailiffs. The passenger has the right to appeal the decision on an administrative offense within 10 days from the date of its delivery.
