The sowing of spring wheat was completed in Transbaikalia by 91%. Agrarians sowed crops on an area of 27 thousand hectares out of the planned 32.7 thousand hectares, the press service of the regional Ministry of Agriculture reported on Wednesday, June 3.

The work was fully completed in the farms of eight districts: Krasnochikoysky, Sretensky, Kyrinsky, Shelopuginsky, Borzinsky, Uletovsky, Chernyshevsky and Aginsky. In the last four municipalities, the plan was even exceeded.

According to the ChitaMedia news agency, the sowing of spring wheat is planned to be fully completed by the end of this week. In addition, the region has already completed the sowing of barley, rapeseed, triticale and oilseed flax.

A number of farms have already started sowing buckwheat, fodder crops and peas. Sowing of oats and sunflowers continues — 13 thousand hectares (40% of the plan) and 10 thousand hectares (65% of the plan) were planted with these crops, respectively.

Earlier it was reported that about 3 thousand units of agricultural machinery will be involved in spring field work in Transbaikalia. The sowing campaign will begin after May 10.
