The head of AVTOVAZ estimated the life span of the Niva on the assembly line

The Lada Niva SUV will celebrate its 50th anniversary in 2027. The production of the model will continue for a long time, and there are no plans to remove it from the assembly line. Maxim Sokolov, the head of the car company, told about this in the Izvestia studio at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF).

"I am sure that the conveyor life of Niva will surely cross this 50-year milestone and will last for a very long time. This is today's. And the future of AVTOVAZ is, of course, the Lada Azimut car, which will enter industrial assembly line production literally next quarter," Sokolov said.

The head of AVTOVAZ noted that in terms of the life span of the conveyor belt, Niva will be on a par with such historical models as the Volkswagen Beetle and Mercedes-Benz Geländewagen.

As part of the SPIEF, AvtoVAZ presented the updated Lada Niva Legend SUV. The model received a new engine, upgraded chassis and body, as well as new electronic systems. According to Sokolov, the release of new items will begin on July 20, AvtoVAZ's birthday.
