Russia has many questions for the IAEA, including the issue of double standards in the issue of creating threats of nuclear incidents at the Zaporizhia NPP. This was announced on June 3 on the sidelines of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) by Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov.

"We are also busy with the IAEA, there are many issues related to, calling a spade a spade, the double standards that the agency's leadership displays in situations that threaten nuclear safety, including regional safety," Interfax quoted him as saying.

He explained that the organization actively condemns the Middle East precedents and works there on nuclear safety issues much more actively than when Kiev openly attacks the Zaporizhia NPP, posing a threat to the security of many countries.

On May 30, Ukrainian militants launched a targeted attack on the hall of power unit No. 6. The situation was promptly reported to the IAEA staff. On May 31, the Ministry of Defense stated that the damage caused by the attack of the Ukrainian drones was only 10 m from the reactor compartment. Later, Likhachev noted that the reactors of the NPP are protected from attacks by the Ukrainian Armed Forces with small shells, but in the case of a larger explosion, there is a high risk of a nuclear incident that will affect Ukraine itself.

Yuri Chernichuk, Director of the NPP, stressed that the Kiev regime had turned the NPP employees into the main target of its attacks, seeking to destabilize the situation at the facility and bring the staff to psychological exhaustion. Renat Karcha, an expert on atomic energy, a deputy of the Legislative Assembly of the Zaporizhia region, said that the Ukrainian Armed Forces are deliberately leading the situation to a nuclear incident with their attack and want to blame Russia for this.
