In summer, the capital's roads should be less congested. According to forecasts by analysts at the Center for Traffic Management (TSODD), in early June there will be 100,000 fewer cars in Moscow, which is about 4% of total traffic. The Metropolitan Department of Transport announced this on June 3 in the Maks messenger.

It is expected that about 270 thousand fewer cars will be on the roads on weekends in the summer than on weekdays, which is about 11% of the total traffic. It usually becomes freer in summer on General Dorokhov Avenue, Kutuzovsky Avenue (here and further from the center), Dmitrovsky, Altufyevsky and Volokolamsk highways.

At the same time, the load on the outbound highways towards the region will traditionally increase on Fridays, and on Sundays — on the entrance to the city, analysts noted. It is worth spending more time on the road on the Garden Ring (outside), Volgogradsky Prospekt (towards the center), Varshavskoye Highway (to the center), Entuziastov Highway (from the center) and Ostashkovsky Highway (towards the center).

In summer, traffic in Moscow becomes freer, as some residents go on vacation, and some spend time outside the city.

Earlier, on May 20, it was reported that in Moscow in the four months of 2026, the number of cases exceeding the speed limit from 60 km/h and above decreased by 24% compared to the same period last year. In January – April, the cameras of the Traffic Management Center (TSODD) recorded 9.8 thousand such cases, whereas last year for the same period — 12.9 thousand.
