Belousov noted the active development of military cooperation between Moscow and Minsk.

Moscow and Minsk are actively developing military cooperation against the background of the continuous hostile activities of NATO near the border of the two states. This was announced on June 3 by Russian Defense Minister Andrei Belousov during talks with his Belarusian counterpart Viktor Khrenin.

"We continue to actively develop military and military-technical cooperation. This is especially important in the context of the continuous hostile activities of NATO near the borders of our states," Belousov said.

In addition, the ministers discussed issues of bilateral cooperation, as well as developed mechanisms to respond to new threats. Belousov also recalled the recent successful joint exercises led by the Presidents of the two countries.

"This is a very important moment for strengthening our cooperation and the security of our states," he stressed.

Khrenin, in turn, noted that contacts at the departmental level are regular.

"We use every opportunity to discuss the situation and work out appropriate ways of further action within the framework of the CIS, the CSTO, as well as during personal communication," stressed the head of the Belarusian Defense Ministry.

Khrenin said on the same day that the likelihood of a military conflict against Russia and Belarus, as well as its subsequent escalation to a global level, remains extremely high. According to him, such an assessment in Minsk is associated with the build-up of NATO's military presence in Eastern Europe. The minister also drew attention to the growth of military spending by NATO countries, which, according to him, exceeded $ 1.6 trillion.

On May 20, the Ministry of Defense of Belarus announced that the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation had worked out bringing nuclear weapons to the highest level of combat readiness during joint exercises of the nuclear forces with the republic.
