The Russian national team was represented in St. Petersburg at the International Engineering and Space Olympiad

The Russian national school team was presented in St. Petersburg, which will represent the country at the Global Future Space Scholars Meet (GFSSM) International Engineering and Space Olympiad. The names of the participants were announced by Stanislav Bliznyuk, President of the T-Technologies Group, at a business session with Dmitry Bakanov, head of Roscosmos, at the T-Yard festival.

More than 530 students of grades 9-11 from 50 regions of the Russian Federation took part in the selection. The Russian national team consists of 11 of the strongest students. The team will be prepared for the world competitions by the Central University, the Roscosmos State Corporation and the T-Technologies Group. The Roscosmos Corporate Academy will become the educational partner of the training program.

As Stanislav Bliznyuk, President of the T-Technologies Group, noted, it is important that as many organizations as possible invest in education. Education is followed by science, followed by innovation. "We, T-Technologies and Central University, together with Roscosmos, are preparing the Russian school team to participate in the International Engineering and Space Olympiad in China. All these talented guys are our future. It is today's schoolchildren who will replace us, not artificial intelligence, which is essentially just a "flash drive" storing information. In 20-30 years, they will be the ones who will create innovations," he added.

The team members will engage in practical work and solving individual program tasks at the Central University and partners. Until August, the Russian national team will study English with a focus on engineering vocabulary, train presentation skills, study subject modules, take intensive courses and work on developing soft skills.

The International Engineering and Space Olympiad will be held in Beijing from August 13 to 17, 2026. In addition to Russia, teams from 17 countries will take part in the final, including Australia, Hong Kong, India, Canada, China, Saudi Arabia, Japan and others.
