Among the injured were 22 underage pedestrians, 16 of whom were injured when crossing the roadway outside pedestrian crossings.

So, in the early morning in the Republic of Khakassia, on 72 km of the Ust-Abakan —Charkov—Yerbinskoye regional highway, a 30-year-old drunk female crossover driver drove off the road, after which the car overturned. As a result of the accident, two passengers of the car were killed, including a six-year-old girl who was transported in the back seat without using a child restraint and a seat belt.
The perpetrator of the incident and her two other young passengers (two girls born in 2022 and 2024), who were also transported in complete disregard of the rules of safe transportation of children, ended up in the hospital with injuries. During the analysis of the car accident, it turned out that the female driver was under the influence of drugs, and there were seven people in the crossover cabin with an actual capacity of five passengers.
In the Republic of Dagestan, during the daytime, on 56 km of the Makhachkala — Verkhny Gunib regional highway, a 35-year-old car driver ran over an 11-year-old bicyclist riding unaccompanied, who suddenly drove in front of the vehicle from the adjacent road onto the main road. The fourth grader died.
In the beginning of the summer period, the State Traffic Inspectorate urged motorists to strictly observe traffic regulations and be more careful on the roads of settlements and cities. Children's behavior on the road is often unpredictable, so special care should be taken when driving and maneuvering in courtyards, as well as controlling exits from areas and park areas adjacent to the roadway. It is best to slow down in advance when approaching such problem areas in order to have time to react and stop the vehicle in case of a sudden change in the road situation.
In addition, the State Traffic Inspectorate reminded parents and immediate relatives of underage road users of the need to be more attentive to their children, trying to ensure maximum safety for them on the road in the summer.
"Have an explanatory conversation with them about the rules of safe cycling, paying special attention to the need to dismount when crossing the roadway at a pedestrian crossing. It is necessary to regularly teach children about the rules of the road, the dangers of entering the roadway and the need to follow the rules of safe behavior, especially when crossing the road. Focus on the fact that access to public roads for cyclists is allowed only when they reach the age of 14," said Police Colonel Sergey Hrantskevich, head of the Department for Road Safety Promotion and Prevention of child traffic injuries at the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation.
He called for accompanying children on bike rides whenever possible and leading a family bike ride together, by personal example demonstrating a pattern of law-abiding participation in traffic.
The lack of parental control over children and teenagers on the street in the spring and summer season, when they spend a lot of time outdoors, often leads to injuries or deaths of young road users. According to operational information, 2,171 accidents involving minors under the age of 16 occurred in Russia in May of this year, in which 44 children and 2344 teenagers were killed and injured.
The day before, it was reported that in 2025, Russia saw a 4.1% decrease in the number of accidents involving drivers who were intoxicated or refused to undergo a medical examination, and almost 13.4 thousand such accidents occurred at the end of the year.
