US companies continue to operate in Russia, despite the departure of some brands. This was announced on June 3 on the sidelines of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) by the head of the American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham) Robert Agee.

"American business in Russia, we have been working for many years. <... > Most have stayed and are working here successfully — pharma, for example, and others," TASS quoted him as saying.

The head of AmCham clarified that against the background of the departure of a number of major brands, many decided that all foreign companies had left the Russian market, but this is not true. According to Agee, after the conflict ends, many American companies will return to the country.

On May 6, Estonian President Alar Karis noted that many European companies are waiting for the end of the conflict in Ukraine in order to resume work in the Russian market. He also stressed that many European companies are closely monitoring the development of the situation and some businesses are considering a possible return to the Russian market.
