The UAC announced the possibility of connecting Wi-Fi on new Russian aircraft

New Russian aircraft will be able to connect to the Internet on board using domestic equipment. This was announced on June 3 by the head of the United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) Vadim Badekha.

"The possibility of Internet access is provided for and implemented on domestic equipment," he said in an interview with TASS on the eve of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF).

At the same time, the final configuration will depend on the decisions of the airlines. Carriers will be able to independently choose the availability of Wi-Fi, multimedia screens, seat configuration and other interior elements. Badeha stressed that when developing new airliners, special attention is paid to modern technologies and passenger convenience.

On June 1, the head of the UAC noted that the company had started supplying Tu-214 passenger aircraft. According to him, aircraft deliveries are already underway. It was clarified that the Tu-214 is a narrow—body medium-haul passenger aircraft designed to carry up to 210 passengers.
