In Vladivostok, a man was sentenced to 10 years for attempting to sell over 24 grams of drugs.

A resident of Vladivostok was sentenced to 10 years in prison for attempting to sell narcotic substances on a large scale. This was reported on June 3 in the press service of the Primorsky Krai Prosecutor's office.

"In March 2024, the convict, born in 1991, tried to sell 11 bundles of mephedrone with a total weight of more than 24 g through hiding places, but the criminal activity was stopped by police officers on the route on Lugovaya Street in Vladivostok," the agency's website says.

It is specified that the man was found guilty under Part 3 of Article 30, paragraph "d" of Part 4 of Article 228.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Attempted sale of narcotic drugs on a large scale"). He will serve his sentence in a high-security penal colony.

The press service added that the verdict had not entered into legal force.

The Supreme Court called for a reduced sentence and an individual approach to such crimes.

On May 18, the Department of the Federal Security Service of Russia for the Astrakhan region reported that in Astrakhan, law enforcement agencies had stopped an interregional supply channel of narcotic drugs on an especially large scale. According to the agency, the defendants arrived in the city to organize the sale of synthetic drugs. They rented an apartment in the Leninsky district of Astrakhan to store illegal substances. During the search, the security forces found and seized more than 500 grams of mephedrone.
