Supporters of the ruling party of Armenia attacked Karapetyan's alliance near Yerevan
Representatives of Samvel Karapetyan's alliance were attacked by supporters of the ruling party of Armenia in the village of Marmarashen near Yerevan. This was reported on June 2 by journalist Suzy Badoyan.
"Members of the Strong Armenia party were beaten in Masis. The leader of the Union of Young Armenians, Arsen Harutyunyan, committed hooligan attacks on young people during an election rally," reads a Facebook post (owned by Meta, a company whose activities are recognized as extremist and banned in the Russian Federation).
Representatives of the Strong Armenia party held an election meeting as part of the campaign before the parliamentary elections scheduled for June 7. Officially, the election campaign in the country began on May 8.
On May 27, during a meeting with voters, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan ordered a woman who expressed disagreement with his position to be removed from the hall. The head of the Armenian government expressed the opinion that his opponent was allegedly paid by a political rival, the leader of the opposition Strong Armenia party, Samvel Karapetyan. Pashinyan did not provide evidence of his words, but advised the woman to spend the funds received in the store.
