The soldiers of the Russian Armed Forces told the details of the liberation of the village of Novopodgorodnoye in the SVO zone.

Soldiers of the 433rd Motorized Rifle Regiment assault squad and scouts of the 1435th Motorized Rifle Regiment of the 27th Guards Motorized Rifle Division of the Center group of forces told the details of the liberation of the settlement of Novopodgorodnoye in the Dnipropetrovsk region. The relevant footage is published by the Russian Defense Ministry on June 3.

The militants of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) have created a fortified area near the settlement with reinforced concrete structures, ditches, barbed wire and intricate obstacles. The stormtroopers overcame the open areas as part of combat twos, gradually moving towards the village and preparing for a decisive assault.

"The main difficulties are a very long route. It was about 22 km long. They took the soldiers to safe places at a safe time. But as such, open areas could not be avoided, so they were held at an accelerated pace. <...> In order for the soldiers to have strength, intermediate points were made," said Damir Chapaev, commander of the 433rd Motorized Rifle Regiment assault squad.

In addition to engineering obstacles, there were many unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) in the way of the fighters, including "waiting drones", as well as various types of booby traps. All these objects were identified during a thorough reconnaissance and destroyed using dumping systems.

"Before sending a particular group, we work out the route as much as possible. Everything is explained as much as possible, the route is brought, <...> it is shown to the group. The group is being escorted by UAVs," said Artyom Astafyev, commander of the surveillance platoon of the reconnaissance company.

A constant adjustment of actions was carried out from the air: Manpower positions were identified, drone strikes were launched, enemy rotation was stopped, heavy copters and ground-based robotic complexes were destroyed.

"There were many strongholds (strongholds. — Ed.) around this settlement. They (the fighters of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. — Ed.) tried to hold him back, <...> but we hit them. The sabotage groups entered in groups of three or four," said Alexander Koreyev, the operator of the reconnaissance drone.

Control over Novopodgorodny opens up the possibility for further advancement of the units of the Center group in this direction.
