Iran attacked an American ship in response to a strike on an Iranian tanker near the Strait of Hormuz. This was announced on June 3 by the press service of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).

"In response to this aggression and violation of the rules of the Strait of Hormuz, the ship Panaya, belonging to the American Zionist enemy, was fired upon by IRGC naval missiles," the IRGC said in a statement on its Telegram channel.
