The UK has completed the longest divorce process, which lasted for 23 years. This was reported by the Daily Mail on June 2.
"The divorce process, which lasted 23 years and was considered the longest in the history of British justice, has finally ended after a high court judge awarded his ex-wife £6.6 million," the publication says.
It is noted that in May 2002, Varsha Gohil filed for divorce from her husband Bhadresh Gohil for the first time, accusing him of infidelity and indecent behavior. The woman agreed to £270,000 and a Peugeot family car as a financial settlement. According to the newspaper, it was later discovered that her husband had hidden part of the assets in the accounts of legal entities around the world, so the woman resumed the lawsuit.
In 2011, the man was sentenced to 10 years in prison for money laundering, and the Crown Prosecution Service froze his assets, totaling about £28 million. It is specified that the court found that some businesses and assets were obtained legally during the marriage.
In May 2026, the woman managed to reach the Supreme Court. As a result, she was awarded £6.6 million from the unencumbered assets of her ex-spouse. The court rejected further appeals from both sides.
Ukrainian singer Nastya Kamenskikh and producer Potap (Alexey Potapenko) in a joint statement on May 1 announced the end of their relationship. It was noted that the artists met 20 years ago, and married in 2019.
